#9 - What is the best way to recommend an improvement to our product or service?

We are Nova Analytical Systems. Our product is gas analyzers. We make oxygen analyzers, hydrogen analyzers, methane analysers, and... you get the point. We service many industries such as syngas, landfill gas, biogas, heat treat, steel, power, and others.

Many people have an aversion to filling out long forms and talking to answering machines. How do you recommend an improvement to our products or services - while talking to a real live human being?

Do you have a suggestion for a functionality improvement in our equipment?

Is there an analysis option that would be useful to you?

Is there an analytical application that is not currently being addressed by our equipment?

Or, do you just want to make a comment to us (good or bad)?

We would like to hear from you. No guarantees that we will quickly implement the idea, but you never know. We do custom work all of the time. It is also important for us to know what analysis features are important to our customers.

Give Mike or Dave at Nova a call, or send us an e-mail.

#8 - Obtaining Service Assistance With Your Nova Gas Analyzer

To obtain assistance with your Nova gas analyzer, you may call our Service Department. We retain good records on our analyzers in the field. To receive the best assistance, it is important for you to have the Model number and the Serial number of the analyzer ready. These may be obtained by consulting the serial plate on the analyzer, usually located on the side or back of the instrument. (see example picture) Your operator’s manual will also have this information on the 2nd or 3rd page.

Other helpful information to gather before calling:

- what specific analyzer function do wish to inquire about?

- if there is a problem, what is the exact nature of the problem?

- what other gases are flowing through the analyzer besides the gas you are measuring?

- what is the temperature, pressure, and moisture content of the gas?

- what are your normal gas readings, and what are they now?

- have a copy of your operator’s manual nearby

The Nova Service Department is usually available between:
Monday – Friday
9:00am - 4:30pm EDT
The phone number is 716-285-0418.

#7 - Blogress (or Blog Progress)

In August 2010, we started this blog about gas analyzers. And with stunning irregularity we have maintained it.

However, using our keen eye for the obvious, we have noticed a bit of an uptick in social media activity around the web. So we are re-committing ourselves to posting information & ideas on this blog page. Someday we will actually have a reader.

Our posts up to this point have been product-announcement-type messages. We have introduced our syngas analyzers, landfill analysers, and our hydrogen analyzers using his venue. But these types of posts tend to be somewhat closer to advertisements often with very little in the way of personal touch. We hope to morph it now into something a bit more human and helpful.

The perennial problem with these blogs is how and where to start. It all goes back to primary school. How many times did you or a classmate whine, "I don't know what to write," in creative writing class?

To assist, we looked for ideas from those who blog about blogging. This guy had some good ideas:

http://www.chrisbrogan.com/50-blog-topics-marketers-could-write-for-their-companies/

The writer of this blog, Chris Brogan, encouraged his readers to freely make use of his list of suggestions. Everyone loves blatant plagiarism. So we are taking him at his word and plan to write on most of the topics as presented in his list.

We saw another blogger who faithfully posts new material on his site every Tuesday and Thursday at precisely 9:04am. Our track record at Nova generally precludes such diligence. But a loose goal of posting sometime every week seems doable. We'll try.

When not writing blogs, we design and build hydrogen analyzers, oxygen analyzers, and other instruments that analyze atmospheric gases.

Give Mike or Dave at Nova a call, or send us an e-mail.

#5 - Gas Analyzers Measure Syngas and Gasification Atmospheres

Available in wall-mount or portable formats, Nova 970 Series is intended for analysis of synthetic gas and gasification atmospheres or other industrial process gases for any combination of methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and oxygen. Hydrogen analysis is fully compensated for effects of other measured interfering gases, and all gases are available with analysis range of 0-100%.

Analytical Company Offers Syngas & Gasification Analyzers

April 22, 2011 - Nova Analytical Inc, a 30 year veteran in gas analysis, introduces the Nova 970 Series Syngas & Gasification Analyzers.

The 970 Series is intended for analysis of syngas and gasification atmospheres or other industrial process gases for any combination of methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), and oxygen (O2).

The Nova 970 Series Syn-Gas Analyzer System has been designed with the flexibility and toughness required in the experimental and industrial environments that characterize synthetic gas production and gasification applications.

Often, the hydrogen measurement is very important in syngas applications. Nova offers hydrogen analysis that is fully compensated for the effects of the other measured interfering gases. Also unique in this product line is the option to have all gases with analysis ranges of 0-100%.

The Nova 970 Series is available in wall-mount or portable formats with different features for each style.

#4 - Analytical Company Re-Launches Landfill Gas & Biogas Analyzer Series

Nova Analytical Systems, Inc.
1925 Pine Ave.
Niagara Falls, NY, 14301, USA

Press release date: November 19, 2009

Nova Analytical Inc, a 30 year veteran in gas analysis, has updated its image and product line. As a part of this re-branding initiative, Nova is recommitting its extensive experience to the area of recovery-gas analysis. The Nova 910 Series Continuous Landfill & Biogas Gas Analyzers have been designed and updated with this objective in mind.

The Nova 910 Series now includes analysis of oxygen, methane, and carbon dioxide (at customer's option) in recovered gases at landfill sites. These analyzers continuously remove moisture from wet sample gas without the need for cooling water or compressed air.

In operation, a built-in sample pump draws the recovered landfill gas through a series of filters and meters to a moisture removal system. The dry sample is then pulled into the sensors and detectors for gas analysis. The results are displayed on an easy-to-see digital readout. Analysis results are also communicated via 4-20mA outputs.

The complete instrument is solidly packaged into a NEMA 4 or 4X enclosure. And for landfills that see cold temperatures, a unique Cold Weather Package is available now to maintain user uptime on even the coldest days of the year. Various alarms and calibration options are also offered.

Contact Nova Analytical Systems Inc. for more information on this and other gas analysis equipment.
