#5 - Gas Analyzers Measure Syngas and Gasification Atmospheres

Available in wall-mount or portable formats, Nova 970 Series is intended for analysis of synthetic gas and gasification atmospheres or other industrial process gases for any combination of methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and oxygen. Hydrogen analysis is fully compensated for effects of other measured interfering gases, and all gases are available with analysis range of 0-100%.

Analytical Company Offers Syngas & Gasification Analyzers

April 22, 2011 - Nova Analytical Inc, a 30 year veteran in gas analysis, introduces the Nova 970 Series Syngas & Gasification Analyzers.

The 970 Series is intended for analysis of syngas and gasification atmospheres or other industrial process gases for any combination of methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), and oxygen (O2).

The Nova 970 Series Syn-Gas Analyzer System has been designed with the flexibility and toughness required in the experimental and industrial environments that characterize synthetic gas production and gasification applications.

Often, the hydrogen measurement is very important in syngas applications. Nova offers hydrogen analysis that is fully compensated for the effects of the other measured interfering gases. Also unique in this product line is the option to have all gases with analysis ranges of 0-100%.

The Nova 970 Series is available in wall-mount or portable formats with different features for each style.

#4 - Analytical Company Re-Launches Landfill Gas & Biogas Analyzer Series

Nova Analytical Systems, Inc.
1925 Pine Ave.
Niagara Falls, NY, 14301, USA

Press release date: November 19, 2009

Nova Analytical Inc, a 30 year veteran in gas analysis, has updated its image and product line. As a part of this re-branding initiative, Nova is recommitting its extensive experience to the area of recovery-gas analysis. The Nova 910 Series Continuous Landfill & Biogas Gas Analyzers have been designed and updated with this objective in mind.

The Nova 910 Series now includes analysis of oxygen, methane, and carbon dioxide (at customer's option) in recovered gases at landfill sites. These analyzers continuously remove moisture from wet sample gas without the need for cooling water or compressed air.

In operation, a built-in sample pump draws the recovered landfill gas through a series of filters and meters to a moisture removal system. The dry sample is then pulled into the sensors and detectors for gas analysis. The results are displayed on an easy-to-see digital readout. Analysis results are also communicated via 4-20mA outputs.

The complete instrument is solidly packaged into a NEMA 4 or 4X enclosure. And for landfills that see cold temperatures, a unique Cold Weather Package is available now to maintain user uptime on even the coldest days of the year. Various alarms and calibration options are also offered.

Contact Nova Analytical Systems Inc. for more information on this and other gas analysis equipment.

#2 - NOVA in the ThomasNet News: Hydrogen Purity

Analytical Company Re-Launches Hydrogen Purity Analyzers for Power Industry

NOVA Analytical Systems Inc.

Press Release Date: September 28, 2010

Nova Analytical Inc., a 30 year veteran in gas analysis, has updated its image and product line. As a part of this re-branding initiative, Nova is recommitting its extensive experience to the area of hydrogen gas analysis especially as applied to the power generation industry. The Nova Models 380 & 436 Series Hydrogen Analyzers have been designed and updated with this objective in mind.

These analyzers perform three functions applicable to power generators and synchronous converters that use hydrogen gas for cooling:

Range 1: 0-100% Hydrogen in Air - for hydrogen purity in power generators to ensure safety and reduce windage loss.

Range 2: 0-100% Hydrogen in CO2 - for monitoring hydrogen purge procedure during generator shutdowns.

Range 3: 0-100% Air in CO2 - for monitoring breathable atmosphere inside generator during shutdown work.

All ranges and gases are efficiently detected on a single temperature-compensated thermal conductivity cell in the analyzer. A front panel switch selects the desired range.

In operation, a built-in sample pump draws the sample gas through the incoming line to a series of valves, filters and meters. The sample is then pushed into the thermal conductivity detector for gas analysis. The results are displayed on an easy-to-see digital readout.

The portable Model 380 is powered by a rechargeable ‘gel cell’ battery. The complete instrument including battery is solidly packaged into an updated choice of rugged dust-tight and water resistant cases.

The continuous Model 436 is permanently-mounted and is available in explosion-proof cabinets.

Contact Nova Analytical Systems Inc. for more information on this and other gas analysis equipment.

#1 - Intro to Nova blog

We are Nova Analytical Systems Inc.

We make gas analyzers as shown in the picture above.

By ‘gas’, we mean atmospheric gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen, oxygen, and others.

Lots of industries are concerned about gas measurement. Gas analysis can tell them about the efficiency, safety, purity, environmental impact, etc. of their activities.

For example:
  • Emissions monitoring from combustion processes involves measuring gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, and others.
  • Alternate energy industries such as landfill-to-energy projects, biogas projects, and syngas projects are often interested in methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, oxygen and others.
  • Heat treat shops bake steel parts in large furnaces containing specific gas atmospheres. Gas analyzers help maintain optimum furnace atmospheres.
  • Manufacturing processes may require a blanket of a certain blend of gases to be present during a process. Gas analyzers ensure the stability of these gas blends.
  • Engine emissions and flue gas data is of environmental interest, but it is also useful in measuring performance and determining if the engine or boiler is properly tuned.
  • Personnel safety is obviously very important. Breathable air that is free of poisonous gases and with sufficient oxygen is necessary for human life.
Nova can help with all of these applications.

We make equipment in all kinds of combinations and configurations including - portable gas analyzer, continuous gas analyzer, gas monitor, flue gas analyzer, emissions analyzer, landfill gas analyzer, oxygen analyzer, methane analyzer, carbon dioxide analyzer, carbon monoxide analyzer, hydrogen analyzer, biogas analyzer, syngas analyzer, heat treat gas analyzer, ambient air monitor, H2 purity analyzer.
