We recently mentioned Boyan Slat’s unique idea for collecting the garbage that has accumulated in the earth’s oceanic
gyres.
The folks at eVolo have announced the
winners of their 2013 Skyscraper Competition. Among the honorable mentions are
a few more ideas for remediating the ocean's garbage patches.

Some of these proposals are much more ambitious than Boyan Slat’s idea. But it is good to see people thinking along these lines.
